Buying Soft Furnishings from China: The Four Questions That Matter

Four things decide whether a soft-goods order succeeds: will the colour match the sample you approved, will the sizes fit real windows and beds, can a single villa order share a container with your cabinets and stone, and how do you verify thousands of pieces without flying to Foshan? This page answers all four, with the checks and terms we use on live orders. Soft furnishings are often bought blind, so we run it the other way: physical samples first, and a mixed container that keeps a first order small.

What We Make

We produce three soft-furnishing groups, all cut and sewn to order in Foshan:

  • Curtains and window treatments — blackout, lined, sheer and unlined panels in eyelet, pencil pleat, pinch pleat and wave headings; roman blinds and tracks.
  • Bedding — duvet covers, flat and fitted sheets, pillowcases and pillow protectors in percale and sateen weaves, plain, embroidered or printed.
  • Rugs and cushions — machine-made, hand-tufted and flatweave rugs in standard or custom sizes, plus scatter cushions and runners that hold a colour scheme together.

Fabric is mill-sourced, then cut, sewn, hemmed and pressed inside our own production chain. Headings are stitched and steam-set, not loosely taped. Bedding is inspected piece by piece, and rugs are rolled over cores before packing.

How to Choose

The same product behaves differently across project types. Match your job to the row below.

Villa or private residence. Full-height curtains with blackout lining in bedrooms, lighter fabric in living areas. Size each rug to the seating group rather than the room, and order by room so boxes unpack where they are needed.

Apartment or residential development. Standardise one or two curtain fabric families across all unit types, with bedding sized per unit. Phased delivery by building or floor keeps handover tidy and cost per unit predictable.

Hotel and hospitality. Guest rooms need blackout that survives commercial laundering, plus flame-retardant (FR) treated fabric where your market requires it; test documentation is shared on request per category. Lobby and corridor windows take heavier weights, and white bedding is easiest to replace piece by piece.

Distributor or retail stock. Stock colours and standard sizes, private-label packaging, container-fill quantities. Soft goods are light, so the real cost lever is how well the load fills space.

What to send. A window schedule (width, height and fixing type), a room list or floor plan, bed sizes with quantities per unit, and your target delivery date. Add a style reference or a colour you must match, and our design team can turn it into a layout and material selection you can price line by line.

Price Ranges

Everything is quoted per specification and every quotation is priced line by line. The column below ranks each item by relative cost.

Five factors decide where your order lands:

  1. Fabric composition and weight — coated polyester sits at one end of the scale, wool and linen blends at the other.
  2. Customisation — dyeing to your sample, oversized panels, uncommon heading styles.
  3. Volume — larger runs spread cutting, sewing and setup cost across more pieces.
  4. Finishing — blackout linings, FR treatments, private labels and packaging.
  5. Packing method — vacuum compression and flat packing use container space better and cut freight per piece.

MOQ and Mixed Containers

MOQ depends on the fabric and finish. Stock colours and standard sizes start low; custom-dyed fabric and FR-treated runs need more volume per colour. The bigger lever is consolidation, because one container can mix multiple categories.

That suits textiles well. Curtains, bedding and rugs are light and compressible, so they can travel with kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, stone and lighting in the same load, filling space around heavier cartons instead of adding a second container. Send your whole project list and we will show you how it fits into a loading plan.

Quality Control

One evidence chain covers every category we supply, textiles included: approved shop drawings → in-production photos and videos → pre-shipment inspection → packing list numbered by room or unit → container loading photos.

For soft goods, that means:

  • Before bulk dyeing — lab dips and swatches go to you by courier. Written approval starts production.
  • In production — photos and short videos of fabric rolls, cutting, stitching and finished headings.
  • Before shipment — an inspector checks panel measurements against your schedule, seam and hem quality, heading fullness, and colour against the approved sample.
  • Packing — cartons carry a room and window label, and the packing list matches your room or unit numbering.
  • Loading — container photos reach you before the doors close.

Certificates are shared on request per category. One rule we hold to: screens show colours differently, so colours and finishes are approved against physical samples, and product images alone are not used for final acceptance.

Your order follows six steps: Share Your Brief → Design & Quotation → Approve the Details → Production & QC → Packing & Shipping → Delivery & Support.

Lead Time and Shipping

Production typically runs 20–30 days for stock fabrics and standard sizes. Custom dyeing, FR treatment or large hand-tufted rug runs add about two weeks. Sea freight from Foshan then depends on your destination port and sailing schedule.

Small orders can move LCL. Mixed and full containers are coordinated at our Foshan warehouse, with export documents, loading photos and a packing list that matches your room numbering. Door-to-door delivery can be arranged if you would rather have one price to your site.

FAQ

How do I approve colours without visiting the factory?

We send lab dips and sample swatches by courier before bulk production. You approve against the physical sample, and that approved piece becomes the colour reference for pre-shipment inspection.

Can you make curtains to exact window sizes?

Yes. Send a window schedule with width, height and fixing type, and we confirm heading, lining and fullness before quoting. Panels are cut to the schedule with hem and stacking allowances included.

Do you supply flame-retardant fabrics for hotel projects?

FR-treated fabrics are available on request, with test documentation for the finish used. Certificates are shared on request per category.

What is the smallest order you accept for a first trial?

It depends on the fabric and finish. Stock colours and standard sizes start low, and a small textile order can often share a mixed container with other categories. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we will confirm what is realistic.

Can bedding, rugs and cushions match one curtain scheme?

Yes. We build one colour plan across all three groups and control dye lots, so pieces from the same order stay consistent.

Do you offer private label and custom packaging?

Yes — woven labels, printed packaging and retail-ready presentation. Send your brand files and packing instruction and we will confirm feasibility.

Is installation included?

No. On-site installation is not included unless separately agreed. Curtains arrive labelled per window with fixing details, so your own fitter can hang them without guesswork.

How are soft goods packed for shipping?

Bedding is vacuum-compressed, rugs are rolled over cores and wrapped, and curtains are flat-packed by room and window number. Dust bags protect lighter fabrics, and loading photos are sent to you.
